Web & Graphic Intern
10/01/09Description: Major Objectives: The intern will be part of a team of experienced Information Technology and Marketing professionals who perform web design, application development and programming and support for the company’s website and applications. Department: Web Design and Marketing Department We are looking for an Intern that likes to work in face paced and vibrant environment where new technologies are always absorbed and implemented in a rapid manner. Our interns work will be instrumental to the success of the operation and is a great resume builder. Interns are also provided with the opportunity for more permanent work and advancement within our rapidly growing companies. Responsibilities: Intern will be working on a project to redesign and create more up to date and professional looking websites for our companies. Layout, user interface, graphics design and placement are all part of daily activities. Involvement in technology operational activities and achieving departmental goals will provide exposure and experience in a fast paced professional office environment. Qualifications: Qualifications: College students majoring in Web Development, Graphic Design, Computer Science, Management Information Systems or similar field required. Candidate should be comfortable with concepts in web programming and/or web design. Technical Knowledge: • Excellent verbal, written, analytical and organizational skills • Flash/Adobe PhotoShop and DreamWeaver knowledge is desirable. • Have advanced HTML, PHP and CSS skills and can build and update websites • Knowledge of SEO/SEM concepts and application • Solid cross-platform/browser development experience • Photoshop skills and website design experience from start to finish. • Experience or interest in designing sites rich in multimedia and graphics The ability to research and work with open source software a plus. This internship will provide an excellent opportunity for an ambitious student to apply their knowledge and gain experience working in an entrepreneurial environment. Candidate must be personable and have excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to interact with all levels of the organization. Must be dependable, and a self starter. Schedule: During the week, Monday - Friday; 10:00 am - 6:00 p.m. We can also be very flexible with hours as we are open 7 days per week from 9:00am to 9:00pm Commitment: 15 - 30 hours per week; intern can work any hours between 9am – 9pm Monday through Sunday. All semesters available. Compensation: The intern will have the opportunity to receive course credit if applicable as well as expand his/her portfolio of professional work. This is an unpaid internship that base on evaluation can turn into a full-time position with our company.
