Summer Management Role
02/06/10We are currently interviewing for our 2010 Window Cleaning Student Management Team. College Pro franchisees learn how to run a business and gain real-world skills as a student entrepreneur. A College Pro business is prime atmosphere for hands on skill development in areas that apply to any career. Within the supportive and innovative College Pro environment, our interns gain skills in everything from putting together a marketing plan to effectively hiring and managing employees. The job is challenging and gives students a ton of real world leadership experience that truly separates your resume from that of your peers. We are not looking for students who have run a business in the past, have business management experience or degrees. We are looking for students that are looking for a unique summer experience, are hard working, open to learning and want to gain the skills that only come from a hands on experience. We train our students during the spring on all of the aspects necessary to run a successful business, including developing skills in areas such as marketing, estimating, people hiring and management, customer service and financial management. We teach, support and coach our students both in the classroom and out in the field, while allowing them to gain hands on experience in a lot of the skills that future employers are looking for. These skills aren’t specific to the window cleaning industry – these are real life skills that they’ll be able to use in the future, regardless of their future career options! Leadership, priority management, scheduling and personal selling are just some of the tangible skills that come as a result of a hands on College Pro experience. During the spring, the manger’s job will be to do estimates for homeowners for the window cleaning of their homes. We teach how to properly price out the job using our 20+ years of estimating standards, and we teach how to sell the jobs to the homeowners. Our franchisees are busy on a lot of the weekends during the spring doing estimates – but we don’t set their schedule – they do, as school is the number one priority for all of our franchisees! So if they are particularly busy one week, or if they have a big test to study for, they can choose to not do work on a weekend. During the summer, the franchise managers oversee the selection, training and production of their work force. Our average franchisee oversees 2-3 employees during the summer and will complete between 100 – 150 window cleaning jobs on average. Each franchisee has a coach that guides them through their journey of learning how to run a successful business. Their coach is someone that has multiple years of successful experience within our business allowing them to share successful practices from personal experience. The franchisee speaks with their coach on a weekly basis and is free to get as much help as they want or need to reach their summer goals. It is a challenging position that requires a student that really wants to learn and grow during the summer!
