For rent: 1 bedroom/bathroom in a nice 2 br/2 ba close to the Courthouse metro in Arlington, available May 1 (can be slightly flexible, but the closer to May 1 the better). It's a great place...pretty modern, nice building with lots of amenities, a couple blocks from the metro. We have a large living room with a flat-screen TV and a wrap-around balcony. The room for rent is pretty large (my roommate comfortably fits a queen bed) and has a nice-sized closet and a recently remodeled bathroom. We have a washer and dryer in the apartment, as well as a full kitchen with a dishwasher. If you need parking, the extra spot is $50/mo, which I am willing to split. The bedroom for rent is not furnished, but the rest of the apartment is.
Courthouse is a great neighborhood with lots of stores and restaurants, and it's walking distance from the Clarendon bars. We have a nice landlord who said she is ok with a well-behaved, housebroken dog, so dog-owners are encouraged to apply.
The room can be rented unfurnished, but if you don't have furniture, my roommate is looking to sell hers for a reasonable price, saving you the hassle of moving furniture. All of the common areas are furnished, but we do have limited storage space.
About me: I'm 24/f, and I work in the labor movement. I'm friendly and easy-going and like to have fun, although I work long hours that will only get longer as the election gets closer. I'm a little messy but not a total slob, and would like to find a roommate who is relatively neat but not anal about it. I'm pretty bubbly and enthusiastic most of the time, and passionate sometimes to a fault. I'm a diehard Democrat but open to living with people of other political persuasions. My favorite TV shows are 24, One Tree Hill, Project Runway, Top Chef, and America's Next Top Model.
My current roommate is the best roommate anyone could find, and I am really sad that she is going abroad and then moving to Boston. I'm hoping to replace her with someone who is fun, easy to live with, and hopefully someone who can be a good friend as well as a roommate.
